FAQ (Shiki)

About Shiki

  • What is Shiki?

Shiki serves Japanese premium seasonal incense products.

  • What ingredients are used in Shiki incense sticks?

Incense sticks are made of natural materials, such as fragrant oils collected from the extracts of herbal plants, resins, flowers, seeds and roots.

  • Why Shiki incense sticks don’t have a bamboo core?

This style of incense is original from Japan, and it’s called senko. Thanks to highly skilled blending techniques, they don’t require a wooden or bamboo core. They produce less ash and creates less smoke than thicker sticks or cones.

  • When to use Shiki incense?

Incense sticks release fragrant smoke when burned. They can be used during meditation, yoga, aromatherapy, etc.. or just to enjoy the natural seasonal scents to lift up your day. They are also used as room freshener or mosquito repellent.

  • Does incense expire?

There is no expiration date for incense sticks. Occasionally, if stored for a long period, the top fragrance may fade, but there will be no issues with the quality of the scent when lit.

  • What is Shiki return/refund policy?

All items purchased through Shiki are final and non-refundable. We do not accept returned orders/items.

Missing or lost orders must be reported within 8 weeks from the shipping confirmation date to be eligible for reimbursement. If you encounter any issues, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@shikincense.com and we will be happy to assist.

    Shipping

    • Do you ship to my country?

We currently ship only to the US.

If you would like to receive Shiki in your country, please message us at: info@shikincense.com

    • Are taxes included?

Taxes are not included. Each box should be within the duty-free allowance for most countries. However, it is up to you to confirm your country's import regulations as we are not responsible for any custom fees that may incur to receive your shipment.

If the package has not arrived after 2 weeks from the shipping confirmation email, please feel free to contact us at info@shikincense.com and we will do our best to help.

    • Will customs delay my package?

We recommend you double-check any customs regulations that can affect your shipment and cause delays or problems. When items are shipped internationally, every shipment must go through customs. This may cause a slight delay in the arrival of your shipment.

    • Why hasn’t my box hasn’t moved yet?

All international shipments are subject to customs inspection. We would love to speed up the delivery process, however we unfortunately do not have any control over when they will release the package. Please keep an eye on your tracking information to watch its journey and see when it's released.

    • My box is marked as “delivered” but I haven’t received it yet.

It may happen to be a lag in time from when the parcel is marked as "delivered" and when it actually arrived to your door. If your package does not arrive within 5 business days of being marked as delivered, please try to contact your local post office.

    • What does “retention” mean on my box tracking status?

If your tracking displays "Retention" status, it means it’s either being held at customs for inspection, or the package was delivered but no one was there to receive it.

In the latter case, you (or the recipient) should have received a notice from the postal carrier with instructions on how to retrieve the package. If not, there is a chance the package is still at customs for inspection. Please note that Shiki cannot control how long customs may detain or when they release a package.

    • My package arrived damaged.

We are terribly sorry to hear that. If your item is at all damaged (broken incenses, defective, etc), we ask that you please take a photo immediately and email us at info@shikincense.com  where we can further assist you.
